If they are so good for you, why do most people douse them in brown sugar and marshmallows? This is a simple way to cook and season sweet potatoes, using only one spice. Allspice is not a combination of many spices as the name implies. It reminds you of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves, but it’s actually a Jamaica pepper. Preheat oven to 350° F | | |
1 large sweet potato | Peel. Slice, about ½” thick. Cut into small cubes. Place in small lightly greased baking dish | |
2 Tablespoons butter ½ teaspoon allspice | Melt, pour over sweet potatoes. Sprinkle allspice and stir, until coated. | |
