Old Fashioned Creamed Peas


Old Fashioned Creamed Peas
We both love fresh peas and even though we use frozen peas for this recipe, it tastes just as good.

Total Time:
 15 min
Serves 4
2 Tablespoons butter
1 ½ Tablespoons corn starch
1 cup milk
In a quart size saucepan or bigger, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the corn starch until smooth. Gradually stir in milk and whisk until well combined.
1 teaspoon sugar
½ teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Add to saucepan, cook and stir until it begins to boil. Cook, stirring continuously for 1 minute
1 (14 ounce pkg.) frozen peas
Add to saucepan, cover pan and simmer on medium heat, 4 – 6 minutes. The peas should thaw and cook briefly, but don’t let them overcook. Serve immediately
